Interested in Native Plants?

The Pulaski County Master Gardeners will host a workshop, Native Plants — Our Natural State, on Thursday, April 4 between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Building (2301 S. University Avenue) in Little Rock. The training will consist of classroom instruction and information on native plants including seed saving, pass-along plants, Arkansas Native plants and propagation. The lecture will be followed by a book signing by a noted gardener, Felder Rushing. The New South Nursery will have native plants available for purchase. Cost is $15.00 per person. Delta Garden Study to Offer Garden Funding to AR Schools

Arkansas schools that are interested in building vegetable gardens and starting garden-based education programming for students can apply for funds from the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) Delta Garden Study. The state’s largest garden-based childhood obesity prevention research study, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and in collaboration with Bank of America, is accepting competing applications until April 1 for two $7,000 awards. Bean Mountain Farms to Host a Plant Sale

Join the Bean Mountain Farms for a plant sale, this Saturday, March 30 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. in front of Eggshells Kitchen (5501 Kavanaugh Boulevard) in Little Rock. Located in Deer, Arkansas, the Bean Mountain Farms specializes in heirloom and unique seedlings grown certified naturally.
