Join a group of experienced female cyclists who will share their knowledge and tips on bike maintenance before, during, and after your ride, Tuesday, August 7 between 7-9 p.m. at the River Trail Rentals (140 Riverfront Drive) in North Little Rock. Learn to Make Personal Care Products
Join the Central Arkansas Library System – Main Library for a workshop on how to make your own personal care products, Monday, August 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s Lee Room (100 Rock Street) in downtown Little Rock. Learn to make your own toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, and more so that you don’t have to pay for commercially-available sweet-smelling chemical poisons. Refreshments will be provided. 7/14/12: Plant Services Used Plant Sale
For great bargains on used plants, visit Plant Services (5514 Crystal Hill Road) in North Little Rock, tomorrow between 9 a.m. to noon. I have bought several gently used plants for amazing prices. Can’t make it this Saturday? Don’t worry. Plant Services has a used plant sale every second Saturday of the month.
7/14/12: Audubon Society of Central AR Monthly Field Trip
Join Audubon Society of Central Arkansas (ASCA) for its monthly field trip, tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Bois D’Arc Wildlife Management Area (WMA) near Hope. If you would like to carpool from Little Rock, meet at 7 a.m. at the south end of the commuter parking lot at I-630/I-430 at Shackleford Road. Otherwise, meet at Bois D’Arc lake around 9 a.m. Target birds include be Purple and Common Gallinules and their young, herons, egrets, Anhingas, and possibly an alligator!
